Ever since Microsoft launched Windows 8 with Modern metro interface many people grew their eyebrows and it was one of the lacking feature not to have a
video player capable of playing any video format thrown at it. The trouble is worst when MKV format is being played, whose higher resolution videos are running neither with sound nor smoothly. It's just running in laggy manner.

VLC announced they are working on an adaptation on their famous vidwo player to run in Metro interface a long time ago, the fund needed to run the project was gained in no time and With Microsoft's constant help all the way VLC team just announced it has crack the code of video audio to work in the Metro interface, which was the main reason for the delay.

Aside from that, as the kernel is common, they've also working to port the player to WP8 as well, that means we will soon have the best video player for both the Windows 8/RT and the WP platforms. This will be a huge step forward for WP platform to gain market share and many people will now be able to spend more time in MS's new touchscreen UI. This will eventually lead to more people buying WP devices. so are you willing to spend money on WP smartphones? Please comment below and let us know.
