India is a
country where Cricket has a great impact on people, and IPL one of the most
entertaining tournaments of Cricket in India is like a festival. From Glamorous
Celebs to many brands all get together to advertise themselves in this occasion.
And Huawei, Chinese Smartphone manufacturer has entered this arena and has
partnered with RCB (Royal Challenge Bangalore) team for the forthcoming IPL
2014.
The
Bangalore based team which is led by highly talented Indian cricketer Virat
Kohli, is a heavy contender of winning this year’s IPL tournament, and the team
has a huge fan following in India as well as whole world, as a lot of
cricketers from many countries take part in this highly popular tournament.
As the
principal sponsor of RCB team, Huawei’s logo will be appearing on the center of
the RCB jersey. Huawei started their
business in India by establishing their R&D centre in Bangalore 15 years
ago, so this venture signifies company’s commitment towards India.
Cai
Liqun, CEO of Huawei India commented on the occasion, “We are delighted to be associated with the game of cricket that cuts across the demographic barriers and connects masses. Our foray into cricket is a gradual phenomenon in company’s journey to transform into a consumer brand. Through this association, we aim to create a strong local resonance for the brand.”
He further added, “Besides, it’s a great platform to capitalize on the mass visibility, and with both Huawei & RCB being individual leaders in our respective realms, I am hopeful for a fruitful association.”
Russell Adams, the Vice President, Commercial,
Operations & Cricket Academy Royal Challengers Bangalore commented,
“We are delighted to welcome a global telecom giant like Huawei as Principal Sponsor of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. With Huawei’s strong presence in Bangalore, it is only fitting that Huawei’s first-ever cricket partnership should be with us. With the 7th edition of IPL kicking off in a matter of days, we look forward to an exciting and mutually rewarding partnership with Huawei”.
And finally the RCB captain, Virat Kohli said,
“Given Huawei’s partnerships with major sporting properties around the world, it is great to have them come on board as Principal Sponsor of the team”
Huawei has been involved in partnership with Arsenal
FC, Paris SG Football Club and Canberra Raiders, Australia. And the company has
announced in March that it is eyeing for $2 billion revenues from India by
