Microsoft had announced it will stop supporting the long running Windows Xp anymore, and it will not provide any future updates to the existing users. Now if you are one of many Windows Xp users and wondering what to do after 8th April in case you don’t want to upgrade to Windows 7 or 8, as hackers may hack into your machine and you won’t have any support from Microsoft.

Quick Heal Technologies, one of the popular Antivirus Companies, said it would support the Windows Xp platform for not less than two years even after MS’s April 8 deadline. Until 2011, Windows XP ruled the Computers with a market share of 43.29 percent, and inspite of being an old Operating System, it still is the second most used Operating System and possess a market share of 29.53 percent that is roughly close to 500 million computers.

Sanjay Katkar, Chief Technology Officer of Quick Heal Technologies said,
"It is possible that hackers may have found vulnerabilities in Windows XP and that they are just waiting for April 8. The concern is that even if Microsoft discovers them in the future, it's not going to release any security fixes for them. Depending on the severity of these risks, cybercriminals might triumph,"

"We advise all our users to be aware and upgrade. If that's not possible, then they should take as much precaution as they can to safeguard their machines,"
he said.
