Microsoft has been working hard to put an end to the talking about WP app eco-system. Many people talk about the WP platform doesn't have too many apps found on Android or iOS platform. Last month Microsoft predicted the app gap between WP and other two major OS platform will close completely over the next year.
Now in the Microsoft's message to developers the actual number has been disclosed by Microsoft itself. Microsoft claims that the Store is “surpassing 12 millions transactions per day and WP Store surpassed 200,000 apps". That is indeed a good news for both developers as well as users. And MS has even better news for developers as MS is claiming it now has the most carriers connected for carrier billing out of all major smartphone platforms with the number being 51 carriers in 31 markets.
There are speculation going about WP 9 in which the metro tiles would be removed and dual sim support and many other exciting features to be offered. And now when the number of apps are really passed 200,000 numbers, then it is certainly a worthy product to buy.
Also the low priced Lumia 520 or newly released Lumia 525 with decent spec and camera should help MS increase the user base and this will definitely encourage developers to create more quality apps for the platform. WP is catching up with Android and iOS in apps number for sure but MS need to encourage developers to create games for WP as well as they need to port some popular games from other platforms in less time too. You can check out WP store's games section and I am sure you will not find enough games to get excited.
So guys what do you say? Are you going to try WP devices or rather stick with Android phones? Comments are mostly welcome.
