Popular Indian smartphone maker Xolo increased the range of their Q series of Android smartphones with Q500. The Q500 is powered by a entry level quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor along with adreno 203 GPU unit and runs on Jelly Bean v4.1. This has got a 4" (480x800p) capacitive touch display based on OGS(One Glass Solution) technology. It has a 5MP rear camera capable of shooting 720p videos and a 0.3MP front facing camera. The phone comes with dual-sim support with dual standby. The whole package runs on a paltry 1450 mAh battery. There are usual sets of connectivity features of 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, aGPS.


It comes with an innovative tech named TransPic, it allows user to translate Hindi text to English by simply pointing the smartphone's camera at any poster or a sign board written on Hindi. The app is also made to read out loud using the "Text to speech functionality". It also features point and grab tech that lets users conveniently input the detected Hindi text to an Internet search phrase or use as an sms easily.
