Nokia’s latest attempt of launching some
affordable Android Smartphone comes to reality with Nokia X, Nokia X+ and NokiaXL. Although Nokia launched the Nokia X in India a while ago, but the bigger of
the lot Nokia XL recently made it to the country.
The Nokia XL packs a 5-inch WVGA
(480x800 p) IPS LCD display with a low 187 ppi density, while the Smartphone measures
141.4x77.1x10.9 mm and weighs a little heavy at 190 grams.
The Smartphone is powered by 1.2 GHz dual
core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play processor along with low category Adreno 203
GPU, the Smartphone comes with 768 MB of RAM coupled with 4 GB of internal
memory which is expandable up to 32 GB with microSD card.
The camera features in Nokia XL consists
of a 5 MP rear shooter with LED Flash along with a 2 MP of front camera unit.
The rear camera can shoot only 480p videos @30 fps. The OS is Android 4.1 AOSP build
(Android Open Source Project).
Nokia and Microsoft take the advantage
of Open Source Project and replaced all core google apps from Nokia X series Smartphone
with their own, meaning no Google Play Store, No Google Maps, No Gmail, Instead
Amazon app store, Apptoid App store (pirated app market), Nokia Maps and so on.
Connectivity options include in this Smartphone
are: 3G, Dual SIM, Bluetooth v3.0, microUSB v2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hot
spot, GPS with A-GPS, FM Radio, 3.5 mm Audio Jack.
The Nokia XL packs a large 2000 mAh
Li-ion battery that according to Nokia, will deliver Stand-by time up to 720
hours, Talk time up to 16 hours in 2G, 13 hours in 3G and a music play back
time of 37 hours.
The Nokia XL would be available in range
of colors including Bright Green, Orange, Cyan, Yellow, Black, White color. The
Smartphone is currently available in India for at price tag of Rs. 11,489.
Pretty high I would say, in this price
bracket there are host of budget Pure Android Smartphones are present in the
country, so it is very hard to think Nokia XL would be sold like hot cakes.
