Google has released the factory images
and images are now live in the Goolge’s Factory images for Nexus devices page.
Those will be available to Nexus device users via an OTA (over-the-air) update
soon but users can still update themselves.
If you happen to be a Nexus owner and
planning to install them you first backup all your data before using the
factory images as it resets the device, Google has also shared the source code
of the Android 4.4.3 Kitkat release (Kitkat mr2 release).
T-mobile has announced it has started to
roll out the Android 4.4.3 update to Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) on
Monday and the software support page of T-mobile shows the build number of
Android 4.4.3 for Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2013) is KTU84L and that of Nexus 5 is
KTU84M.
The Android 4.4.3 update isn’t a
revolutionary change first of all rather it will fix some bugs present on
Android 4.4.2 along with some security enhancements according to the supportpage. The update is 54 MB in size and currently available for the T-mobile’s
Nexus customers via OTA.
Apart from the minor bug fixes and security
enhancements, the update will fix issues such as data connection loss, random
reboots, missed calls and various camera bugs and again I tell you don’t expect
any UI changes or new features.
The most expected fix is the ‘mm-qcamera-daemon’
crash, which many Nexus 5 users have reported to cause huge battery drainage
and Google claimed this happening due to high CPU usage of the ‘mm-qcamera-daemon’
process that led the battery to die sooner than expected.
The update will be initially rolled out
to Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2012), Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 10 and then some GPE
(Google Play Edition Smartphones) then to some flagship Smartphones one after
another.
