There are lots of security issues that can be found
in Android, but recently a new virus has been discovered that can affect your
Android Smartphone in a nasty way. Trojan.Droidpak, a Trojan virus is the
culprit of the issue, it creates a dll file that registers as a system service
and then it starts to download the configuration from http://xia2.dy[REMOVED]s-web.com/iconfig.txt
and then creates an apk file in the compromised computer, the dll even
downloads the necessary ADB drivers and then it installs the apk file in the
Android device connected to the computer in USB debugging mode.
This whole process has been disclosed by Symnatec
team. And if you want to know more about this threat you should check out this
LINK, according to Symnatec it is a kind of Android.Fakebank.B virus and
poses as a Google APP Store application in the infected Android device. This
virus actually looks for Korean banking apps on the device and if founds, it
prompts users to delete them in order to install malicious versions.
Some necessary security steps are:
·
Disable USB debugging mode when you are
not using it.
·
Stay away from syncing to unknown PC.
·
Install reputed security softwares like Norton
Mobile Security.

Flora Liu, Symantec researcher commented "The malicious APK
actually looks for certain Korean online banking applications on the
compromised device and, if found, prompts users to delete them and install
malicious versions. It also intercepts SMS messages received by the user and
sends them a remote server."
