When I posted the last article about Micromax Canvas Power with 4000 mAh battery, I mentioned Lenovo P780 but completely forgot to write about another Smartphone
that too hold a giant battery even greater than both Lenovo P780 and Micromax
Canvas Power and that is Gionee M2. Gionee M2 is the latest addition in the
mid-range Smartphone market in India.
This Smartphone features a 5 inch FWVGA (480x854p)
touch screen display and is powered by 1.3 GHz quad core Cortex A7 processor
along with Mali 400 GPU. This Smartphone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of
the box and sports usual dual SIM offerings like other Indian Smartphones with
dual standby.
It has a 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and 2 MP
front facing camera. The rear camera can record HD videos at smooth 30 frames
per second. Gionee M2 is equipped with 1 GB RAM and the internal memory is 4 GB
that can be further expanded up to 32 GB with microSD card.
And now the main attraction of Gionee M2 is its
giant 4200 mAh battery is there, that can deliver up to 555 hours of standby
time and 24 hours 3G talk time and in 2G connections M2 is said to deliver 31.5
hours of talk time. These ratings are somehow close to that of Lenovo P780.
The Smartphone features USB OTG, but it only lets
you to charge other devices. Other connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi
802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth with A2DP and GPS. And sensors such as Proximity
sensor, G-sensor, E-compass and Light sensor are also present in Gionee M2.
The Gionee M2 comes in Black and White color options
and is priced at Rs. 11,123, but Snapdeal.com is offering Gionee M2 at Rs.10,847 and is now sold out. But you can get this Smartphone from other online
vendors as well as Indian mobile shops.
Gionee M2 is certainly better than Micromax Canvas
Power as far as specifications are concerned. But again Micromax Canvas Power
is ~Rs. 1200 Cheaper than Gionee M2, and service centers of Micromax are widely
available than of Gionee. So, we will see a huge competition between these two manufacturers.
