Here is a exciting news for you guys. Xiaomi,
Chinese Smartphone manufacturer has unveiled its latest tablet Xiaomi MiPad yesterday
in China. The tablet was unveiled by Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO at an event in
Bejing.
The Xiaomi MiPad features a 7.9-inch QXGA
(1536x2048p) IPS Retina display, resulting in an eye popping 326 pixels per
inch density. The display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. The
display is reported to be the same used on iPad mini 2 made by Sharp.
The Xiaomi MiPad is powered by the
latest 4+1 core NVIDIA Tegra K1 SoC ARM Cortex A15 processor clocked @ 2.2 GHz
along with Kepler GPU with 192-cores. The performance is reported to outperform
the Snapdragon 805.
The Tablet comes with 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM
and internal storage varies from 16 GB and 64 GB, and both the model supports
microSD card support up to 128 GB. So, plenty of storage is available, nothing
to worry.
The MiPad sports a 8 MP AF rear camera
with Sony BSI sensor and 5 elements lens, capable of shooting Full HD videos @ 30
fps, while a 5 MP front camera unit features OmniVision sensor, both of them
carries f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity options in this tablet
consist of dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth v4.0. The Xiaomi MiPad
runs of Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box with MiUI ROM. Xiaomi has provided
a 6700 mAh battery in this tablet.
The Xiaomi MiPad will be available in
White, Blue, Green and Pink colors and priced at 1499 Chinese Yuan (~ INR 14,268)
for the 16 GB variant while the 64 GB
variant costs 1699 Chinese Yuan (~ INR 16,174). Xiaomi would start the beta
testing of the tablet in June but no word on market availability is disclosed
yet.
