Google has unveiled its first set of low cost
Smartphones running Android One in Indian market partnering with hardware
vendors Spice, Micromax and Karbonn. All the Smartphones have been up for sale
from September 15th both online and offline.
Under the Android One programme, Google partners
with local phone manufacturers to manufacture and sell affordable yet feature
packed Android Phones, Google also provides minimum hardware reference boards
and software update support to partner vendors.
Of the 3 newly launched Android One Smartphones
first one is Spice Dream UNO Mi-498, the Spice Smartphone packs a 4.5-inch
FWVGA IPS display and runs on latest Android 4.4.4 Kitkat, and it is powered by
1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek processor with Mali 400MP GPU.
The Spice Dream UNO Mi-498 comes with 1 GB of RAM
and 4 GB internal storage with microSD expansion slot which supports up to 32
GB SD card, it is equipped with 5 MP AF rear camera capable of shooting 1080p
videos along with a 2 MP front facing camera unit.
On the connectivity fonts, Spice Dream UNO Mi-498
packs dual SIM, Bluetooth v4.0, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS with A-GPS, 3.5 mm
Audio Jack and it packs a 1700 mAh Li-ion battery unit and comes with a price
tag of Rs. 6,299.
The other Android One phone, The Karbonn Sparkle V
also packs a 4.5-inch IPS FWVGA display and it is too powered by 1.3 GHz quad
core MediaTek processor with Mali 400MP GPU, it runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat
out of the box.
The Karbonn Sparkle V also comes with 1 GB of RAM
and 4 GB internal memory that is further expandable up to 32 GB with microSD
card, the Smartphone is equipped with 5 MP rear camera with LED flash along
with a 2 MP front facing camera unit.
The connectivity options in Karbonn Sparkle V
includes 3G, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS with A-GPS, FM Radio, 3.5 mm
Audio jack and it also has a 1700 mAh battery, the Karbonn Sparkle V comes with
a price tag of Rs. 6,399.
The Micromax Canvas A1 is the 3rd Android
One Smartphone that got launched in India. The Micromax Canvas A1 like the
other two packs same 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display and runs on Android 4.4.4
Kitkat out of the box.
The Smartphone is also powered by 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek
processor with Mali 400MP GPU and it comes with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal
memory expandable up to 32 GB with SD card just like the other two Android One
Smartphones.
The Micromax Canvas A1 is equipped with 5 MP AF rear
camera with LED flash along with a 2 MP front facing camera unit and the rear
camera can shoot 1080p videos, all the connectivity options including 3G, Dual
SIM, Wi-Fi, and GPS are present in this phone too.
The Micromax Canvas A1 packs a 1700 mAh Li-ion
battery unit and it is priced at Rs. 6,499.
The Spice Dream UNO Mi-498 comes
with 10 GB of Spice Cloud storage space alongside 35 GB Google Drive space and
other two phones, Karbonn Sparkle V and Micromax Canvas A1 both would come with
35 GB of Google Drive Space.
While the hardware specs are not anything to get
excited with, but with the backing of Google you can expect all of them
including the next Android One Smartphones will definitely going to give you
