The latest iPhone 6 is already bigger than previous
iPhones with 4.7-inch display, and now Apple has launched even bigger iPhone 6
Plus with 5.5-inch Retina HD (read Full HD) IPS LCD display with 401 ppi pixel
density.
iPhone 6 Plus is a single SIM smartphone and it runs
on iOS 8, Apple has tweaked the OS to take advantage of the large screen estate
of iPhone 6 Plus and thus the Smartphone has some cool features including extra
row of apps and split screen multi window on several apps.
The iPhone 6 Plus is obviously a more powerful
variant of iPhone 6 as the name suggests, it is powered by 64-bit Apple A8 chip
which is built on 20 nm process resulting in more power efficiency while
offering 25% more CPU power along with 50% GPU boost than iPhone 5S.
The iPhone 6 Plus comes with 2 GB RAM and internal
memory variants are basic 16 GB, 32 GB and 128 GB, as usual no SD card is
supported, iPhone 6 Plus sports same 8 MP iSight camera with dual tone LED
flash as on iPhone 6, but the iPhone 6 Plus camera has OIS and it can shoot
1080p videos @ 30 and 60 fps, while slo-mo videos can be recorded @ 240 fps
(the resolution is still un-disclosed though).
The connectivity options are same as iPhone 6,
including 20 Cat4 LTE bands, VoLTE, Wi-Fi ac, Wi-Fi calling, NFC, 3G HSAP+, GPS
with GLONASS. The iPhone 6 Plus will be sold at starting price of $299 for the
16 GB model and $399 and $499 for the 64 GB and 128 Gb model respectively. Pre-orders
has started today and shipments will start next week at 19th September.
