Recently Times of India got in touch with Motorola in CES and they reported Motorola will launch their new smartphone Moto G in India in the last week of january. Motorola which used to sell devices in India, stopped their sells in India after Google acquired Motorola back in 2012. William Moss, the director of corporate communication at Motorola Mobility, said "I don't want to take for granted the strength of our brand in India right now. Moto G is going to be the first phone we will introduce in India in a while. We to reintroduce ourselves to consumers in India," he said. "The good news is that we are ready to begin reasserting ourselves in the markets we have a history of being in."

For those who doesn't know about Moto G here's a quick preview: 4.5-inch 1280x720p HD screen with 329ppi and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1 GB RAM 2070 mAh battery, 8/16 GB internal storage(lacks microSD slot), 5MP rear camera with flash and 1.3 MP front camera. But this is one of the rear current devices to feature Android Kitkat OS. And the whole package is priced $179(~11,000 Rs) in U.S. for a unlocked 8 GB model.

So, this is a good option for budget conscious people to explore flagship features in an affordable price range. But the fact is that Motorola no longer has a sells office in India, so they have to rely on a third party distributor to sell Moto G in India and it is expected that the price will be very much competitive, Mr. Moss said, "it (Moto G) is going to be price competitive... if you look at what the device offers, the kind of responsiveness and performance it has, Moto G will be competitive with its peers."

Steve Sinclair, vice president of global marketing at Motorola Mobility, said "Right now our plan is to announce Moto G in India with a partner in the last week of January" and he also added, "Moto G is for people who want a device like Galaxy S4 or iPhone or even Moto X but either they don't want to pay the high price for these devices or can't afford them."

The big benefit of Motorola Moto G is the value for money product as well as quick android updates, now the main reason behind quick updates is the basic version of the OS used on Motorola devices. Mr. Sinclair said "One of the reasons we can provide fast updates is because we start with basic Android in our phones. This gives us a lot of flexibility and lot ability to speed up updates. Not laying unnecessary stuff on top Android allows us to push updates faster. And that we believe it is of incredible value to consumers", on the contrary other OEMs like Samsung, HTC, Lenovo uses a highly customized version of Android.

So, guys if are to buy a Kitkat running budget Android smartphone just wait for a few more days and Moto G will give you flagship like features in a fraction of flagship smartphone's price.
